Day 407 – Friday 19th April 2019
Another sunny day. Into St Tropez after lunch.
It’s Julie’s birthday tomorrow and I was going to buy her a painting of St Tropez from one of the many artists who sit on the waterfront of the old harbour but earlier on this week she went and bloody well bought herself a print of the town!!!!!
Now looking at their work I think with a bit of practice I could do better. I might give it a go and if it goes well it’ll give me something to do while I while away next winter in Portugal.
Day 408 – Saturday 20th April 2019
A sunny if windy day.
To the market at St Tropez.
It’s Easter weekend and there was about a two mile tailback of traffic into the town. It didn’t hold us up on Zippy but it’s amazing that a town as small as St Tropez has enough car parking space to accommodate that many visitors. No way would a small English town be able to handle that much traffic; most local councils in England can’t even pick up the litter let alone sort out their parking.
All marketed out it was on to Le Bou-Bou in Grimaud for Julie’s birthday lunch.

Le Bou-bou is in a beautiful location but the service leaves a lot to be desired; despite coming back to check our order they got my drink wrong and my chips never arrived. The food that I did get though was great 😀
Later in the afternoon I went for a walk along the beach towards Sainte-Maxime and stumbled across a little nudist beach! They should have warning signs up; someone as sensitive as myself should not have to witness things like that!
Day 409 – Sunday 21st April 2019
An overcast day. I was going to go into town and sketch the harbour front but my back has been bad for days and riding Zippy makes it worse so I spent the day slouched in the van. I did do a bit of drawing though…
From a photo on my phone. I don’t know, I haven’t drawn in donkey’s years; it’s okay and I’ll get better with practice but I think I’ll try drawing and painting on my ipad.

Day 410 – Monday 22nd April 2019
A sunny day but it’s blowing a bloody gale. My back is a lot better. Went for a walk along the beach in the morning and a spin on Zippy in the afternoon.
Finished watching season 4 of Game of Thrones.
Day 411 – Tuesday 23rd April 2019
Woke up to rain. The morning dragged and I was thinking about my lunch by 10am.
Went for a walk along the beach in the rain.
The nudist beach I came across the other day. Thankfully none were braving the rain.
Spent the afternoon making up a To Do list for when we are back in the UK. God, it’s 3 pages long 🙁 Amongst all the grind of sorting out my house & tidying up the garden, getting MOTs and other mind numbing chores I’m hoping to walk up Ben Nevis, weather permitting of course 😀
Day 412 – Wednesday 24th April 2019
Woke up to heavy rain and it chucked it down till 3pm 🙁
With no campsite cats around to scare him Cfor has become very nocturnal….

A cold and overcast day. Thank god the forecast is for the sunshine to return tomorrow. Had a lazy day.
