Week 76

Day 520 – Friday 16th August 2019

Another very wet day. Up early and on the M6

We stopped at Hilton Park services for possibly the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. The egg had been nuked, the hash browns shattered when cut and fuck knows what they’d done to the Veggie sausages. Thank God for baked beans and HP sauce

We were on the M6 because we are off to Knutsford to catch up with my mate Tom and his wife Caroline and then on to the Hollybank Caravan Park just outside Irlam for the weekend.

Hollybank Caravan Park… what a shithole.

They had the cheek to charge me Β£30 a night then because the grass was too sodden to drive on gave me a slot on their access road!

It gets worse, the toilet block is like something from the 1930s only badly painted

The 2nd worse toilet block I’ve ever seen, -10/10

What’s more the place was full of Tarmac contractors and yes they have used an apostrophe in Patios but I suppose English isn’t their first language

Day 521 – Saturday 17th August 2019

A bright morning and after a bit of a nightmare reversing out of Hollybank, which included a Julie panic attack, we were on our way to meet my younger brother Dave and his partner Jo.

The Trafford Centre, after their security saw us cruising around a busy car park looking for a space they wisely kindly let us in the coach park πŸ˜€

Eating at the TC; we had some top scram at Pesto

All full up I decided we weren’t going back to Hollybank, we’d go to St Annes and park on the front.

St Annes, tons of parking and it’s all free and no travellers

The Ribble estuary, beautiful

Day 522 – Sunday 18th August 2019

A bright and beautiful morning in St Annes

I love walking along the coast, the sound of seagulls, the sea air, the wind in my eyebrows…

We took a stroll around the pier.

It didn’t take me long to lose a quid

This is how the seaside used to be…

To my Aunty Tricia’s in Stalmine for some cake & tea, we had to drive through Blackpool to get there.

Blackpool; words fail me…

We were in Benidorm earlier this year and I have to say Benidorm is a much much classier place than B town

Day 523 – Monday 19th August 2019

After a good night’s sleep parked up on the prom at St Annes we were up early and off to Peel Green crematorium to spread my Dad’s ashes.

We got there early and Cfor was mad keen go out so I thought why not…

the little swine disappeared straight into the bushes and wouldn’t come out giving Julie her second panic attack of the weekend

The ash spreading over Julie and I hightailed it back to the Midlands for a very important meeting…

I could get a job for the Daily Mail

this is how Cfor likes to travel

Day 524 – Tuesday 20th August 2019

Up early and back to Reigate

Cfor has a gander at the traffic on the M25

Day 525 – Wednesday 21stΒ August 2019

A bit of a lazy day, tackled the To Do list the trip up North generated.

Day 526 – Thursday 22nd August 2019

A beautiful day.

I took Julie to Redhill, I know how to treat a girl!
