Week 74

Day 505 – Friday 2nd August 2019

Sod my family tree and Reigate, off to the south coast for a couple of days.

First stop Southsea and a trip up the Spinnaker Tower

Of course they’d laid on a marching band to celebrate our arrival

Having been up the TV tower in Berlin I can’t say I was too impressed with the Spinnaker Tower especially as its sole purpose is being a viewing platform but I suppose it’s something crossed off page 74 of my Bucket List.

Nah. Pompey doesn’t look great even from this height

Oh look a boat!

oh look, two more boats!

Julie shows off her flossing skills on the glass floor

The Spinnaker Tower done we had a drink in the Slug & Lettuce. Can’t say I’m too impressed with the locals at Gunwharf; I won’t go into details as I don’t want all my fat readers with very bad tattoos to think I’m judgemental.

Back is Southsea; I love a walk in fountain πŸ˜€

Day 506 – Saturday 3rd August 2019

Up early and off to Brighton. Half the town is closed off for Pride so Doris led us a merry dance over the South Downs before delivering us to Madeira Drive.

Dressed but grumpy for Pride – all dogs like a little bit of arse don’t they but I suppose when you are this size you’re generally on the receiving end!

To the parade…

There were the usual boring earnest activists…

and some other activists letting everyone know exactly what the baby Jesus thought of bum boys

but the people had come to see a show, some noise & colour

… some dancing girls although being Pride you never know which team they started out life batting for

it was good to seeΒ  Sir Cliff has finally come out

and no Pride parade would be complete with a bad trans-Madonna

The parade was so long we popped into Foodilic for a blow out lunch and it was still going on when we came out but you can have too much of a queer thing and we went for a lie down on the beach.

Some lads came and sat next to us doing balloons; surely that’s as embarrassing as sniffing glue

Day 507 – Sunday 4th August 2019

Up early and after a stroll on the beach…

7 am and these 2 blokes walked passed me arm in arm. One was carrying a pint the other a latex glove…

Stroll over it was back to Reigate and to the Mill House for Sunday lunch with the worst waitress service ever. I could have eaten a scabby dog by the time my meal arrived.

Back home my new scanner had arrived πŸ˜€

Day 508 – Monday 5th August 2019

A wet start to the day; Reigate is a lovely town but sitting just under the North Downs is suffers a very damp micro climate even in August.

Reigate with the North Downs clouded out.

In the afternoon I recruited my No.1Β  DIY assistant Julie and polished off the last of the odd jobs on the house.

The Gutters part II

Day 509 – Tuesday 6th August 2019

Spent a frustrating morning trying to track down a couple of cousins before going for a walk with Julie…

a lost baby shrew

Day 510 – Wednesday 7th August 2019

Corr, it me birthday!

Julie bought me a Pie Barm for breakfast; I ate it cold and it was absolutely fabulous πŸ˜€

When I arrived home I found I’d been made a lovely cake πŸ˜€

For lunch we went to Beryl & Peg’s cafe.

Had another breakfast, a full Veggie fry up πŸ˜€

Rounded off the day with Pizza & Chips, some of the cake and a bottle of RosΓ© round at Julie’s; a perfect birthday πŸ˜€

Day 512 – Thursday 8th August 2019

Another mixed day weatherwise, supposed to be a storm on the way. Managed to track down my last 3 missing cousins! πŸ˜€

In the afternoon Julie and I went out for a walk into town.

a slightly battered Gatekeeper

No idea what we are going to do for the rest of the time we are in the UK. Supposed to be going to Manchester.
