Week 69

Day 477 – Friday 28th June 2019

A gloriously sunny day. Had a walk into town

It’s easy to forget what a beautiful place Priory Park is

With no breeze at all it was a mega hot in the afternoon so I hid behind the curtains and binge-watched Escape to the Chateau DIY; I wouldn’t mind owning a little hovel somewhere in Europe one day especially if I got to mess about on a JCB 😀

Day 478 – Saturday 29th June 2019

Fabulously sunny morning and it’s supposed to be a real scorcher this afternoon.

We went to Godstone for a walk

The duck pond on The Green at Godstone

It was banging hot and it made me think we should be in Antibes and I should be in the Med cooling off!

It doesn’t matter how hot it gets, pigs are always hungry

We found some shade to eat our butties at St Nicholas Church in Church Town.

So quiet and peaceful, I bet this place hasn’t changed that much in the last 100 years

Day 479 – Sunday 30th June 2019

A bit cooler today. If I’m going to walk up Ben Nevis this summer I really should get in shape so I went for a morning walk up Reigate Hill

Day 480 – Monday 1st July 2019

Beautiful sunny day. To the top of Reigate Hill with Elizabeth

Not Elizabeth!

 Day 481 – Tuesday 2nd July 2019

Another beautiful sunny day. To the top of Reigate Hill with Elizabeth again.

that’s Elizabeth

Popped into the doctors on my way home. It turns out I have a very mild form of skin cancer called BCC, basel cell carcinoma, on me nose. Google says it can be cured in almost every case. I have to have it treated though. I hope I’m not going to be stuck in the UK waiting for a hospital appointment.

Day 482 – Wednesday 3rd July 2019

Lovely morning. The NHS rang me up before 9am about an appointment for my BCC! The good news is at least they expect me to live until next Wednesday 😉

Went up Reigate Hill again. Not really feeling the climb now so I will do it twice tomorrow.

In the afternoon I went for a lovely walk with Julie to Reigate Heath

This Comma butterfly doesn’t look much with its wings upright

but its a real beauty with its wings unfurled

Day 483 – Thursday 4th July 2019

A lovely day so I stepped up my training for Ben Nevis. Went up Reigate Hill twice and it knackered me which is slightly worrying as Reigate Hill is about 220m and Ben fucking Nevis is 1,345m!
