Day 435 – Friday 17th May 2019
An overcast day, did a bit of shopping and not much else.
It’s Cfor’s birthday today; he wanted one of the Collar Doves that hang around our pitch but being such a fatty he had to settle for some extra biscuits 😀

Day 436 – Saturday 18th May 2019
Another overcast day this time with some drizzle. Planned the journey back home and polished up my To Do list.

Day 437 – Sunday 19th May 2019
It rained all night and it’s overcast & cold today. Not really the weather for doing much. Did some reading, listened to some podcasts and polished my To-Do list yet again.
Cfor got some much needed exercise in by moving from the dashboard to the bed
Day 438 – Monday 20th May 2019
The forecast was for overcast and rain later but it was a lovely day. After lunch we took Zippy to Cagnes-sur-Mer for a walkabout and an ice cream.

Once on the seafront Julie spotted sailing Yacht A parked up off the Cap d’Antibes. Yes it’s that big and that distinctive. Ice creams eaten we motored to the Cap.
It’s the 9th biggest yacht in the world and it was parked just off Plage Garoupe where the Russian owner has a house & estate.
At the little jetty the tenders use at Plage Garoupe I chatted with one of the crew who told me it has a crew of about 60 onboard and does about 8-9kts under sail but they always motorsail at about 15kts. Must be a great life sailing between the Caribbean & the Riviera; got to be better than spending your days in a windowless box near Southampton that’s for sure!
Roman Abramovich’s yacht Eclipse is still anchored around the corner off Eden Roc and even though it’s much bigger than Sailing Yacht A it’s nowhere near as striking.
Eclipse, the 3rd biggest Yacht in the world but rather boring really.
Day 439 – Tuesday 21st May 2019
An overcast day and quite cold. Spent the day reading and listening to podcasts.
It turns out it wasn’t Cfor’s birthday last Friday it’s this Friday!
Day 440 – Wednesday 22nd May 2019
A cloudy day but not cold.
Treated myself to a fry up for lunch.
After lunch we took Zippy to Grasse. It was a great drive through the winding hills even if I did have share the road with a few French dickheads. What part of it’s dangerous to overtake on blind bends don’t they not understand.
Grasse is quite a big town. They make and sell a lot of perfume here so there weren’t many shops I could go in.
The town centre is as you’d expect in France, beautifully dilapidated and a bit wonky.

Like most French towns they have a bell tower or two and a clock tower.
I got lost on the way home but not as lost as Theresa.
Day 441 – Thursday 23rd May 2019
A sunny day but Julie’s leg and ankle are swollen after she slipped over yesterday.
Sat around reading, dozing and listening to podcasts in the sun. Monaco tomorrow 😀 😀
